The Grand Traverse Resort and Spa is an iconic symbol of the Traverse City region, a splendid high rise, towering above an expansive golf course, and visible across the scenic Grand Traverse Bay. It’s also one of the most illustrious and luxurious getaways in northern Michigan, with a slew of shops, a restaurant with one of the finest views in town, and a five-star hotel being just a few of the attractions. Completed across two different phases, the project demanded a complete overhaul and reconstruction of the Grand Traverse Resort’s parking lot. First, Team Elmer’s was required to remove every vestige of the existing lot, including underground utilities, sidewalks, curbs, and gutters. They then set about adjusting the lot layout to accommodate better traffic flow, a task that included re-planning, infrastructure installation, curb and gutter reset, and sidewalk reconstruction.

The final stages of the project involved beautification and transportation additions, both of which will make the Grand Traverse Resort an even more attractive and guest-friendly environment. Additional landscaping was implemented, including planting beds and trees, while a new bus shelter will aid guests in using Resort shuttle services to reach local attractions and entertainment.

“Thanks for all the great work you guys are doing,” remarked Resort representative Rob Kalbfleish while the project was still in progress. “I’m hearing lots of good reports from staff out there!”
