History Center archives move to TADL!The History Center of Traverse City is in the midst of moving their archives to the Traverse Area District Library (TADL). The History Center has reached its capacity to manage their archives. Transfering the files to the Special Collections section of the TADL will allow better record keeping and management of the information. However, actually getting all of the archived files moved across town proved to be a challenge for the History Center, lacking the man-power and/or funding to hire help to get the job done. Enter Team Elmers. In celebration of our 60 years of service, we went in search of historical files from our past. In doing so we learned of the History Center's predicament and offered to donate a crew and equipment to move the archives from the old Carnegie Library on 6th Street to the TADL on Woodmere Ave. |
Combating the Cold WeatherThe midwest is no stranger to a wide range of extreme weather. The summer months will bring sweltering heat, reaching near triple digits and before you know it the temperatures drop back down below freezing. Currently the weather resides on the cold end of the spectrum, and our concrete division has to take precautionary measures to ensure we deliver a quality product to the job sites. However, sometimes the cold temperatures prove to be too much, freezing pipes and wreaking havoc on the area. This was the case in the spring of 2015, where pipes were effected all over Traverse City, including at the Union Street Dam. Team Elmer's Update - Episode 14: Combating the Cold Until next time, bundle up and stay safe out there! |

Award of Excellence from the Builders Exchange!
The Builders Exchange awarded Team Elmer's two 2015 Awards of Excellence in Construction for the two highly visible projects, recognizing the ability to overcome obstacles, as well as come in under budget and ahead of schedule.
The Miracle Mile project was recognized in particular for the project planning and communication campaign that contributed to the quick and smooth completion of the challenging project. Reconstructing LaFranier Rd involved many challenges, such as lowering a 20" watermain 10 feet. The project came in under budget without delays, in spite of contract changes and additions. Thank you to the Builders Exchange for honoring us with not one, but two of their coveted construction awards! |
