Get A Load Of This! - Episode 4: Holiday Spirit Each year you've come to expect a Team Elmer's crane to appear in downtown Traverse City around this time of year, typically accompanied by a truck and trailer hauling a giant Christmas tree and Santa's house. In fact, it was 35 years ago when we set Santa's house for the first time on the corner of Cass Rd and Front St in what at the time was a new courtyard!

Reconstruct in the Soo: Ashmun Street gets a facelift
We've spent a considerable amount of time in the Upper Peninsula this summer. Earlier in the season one of our Hillman-based crews replaced two large culverts on I-75 near Dafter, MI. Immediately following the completion of that project, the crew moved roughly 10 miles north to Ashmun St in Sault Ste Marie, MI to begin the 3 month reconstruction project. Unlike the earlier closed project on I-75, traffic had to be maintained at all times on Ashmun St throughout the duration of the project. Keeping traffic flowing through an active work zone can be a challenge at times. It requires the roadway to be reconstructed in stages, rather than all at once, which adds time to the overall project duration.
