TRAVERSE CITY, MICH., Aug. 4, 2010—Team Elmer’s has once again been recognized for its outstanding safety record at all seven of its fixed and portable aggregate production plants.
During an annual summer meeting at The Inn at Bay Harbor, the Michigan Aggregates Association (MAA) presented Team Elmer’s with eight Safety Awards in recognition for facilities that have no lost-time due to accidents or injuries during 2009.
“We’re deeply honored to have received the awards,” said Brian Wildfong, director of Team Elmer’s mining operations. “We’re constantly working to ensure both workplace safety and customer satisfaction, and it’s nice to be recognized for our efforts.”
Founded in 1960, MAA is a non-profit trade association that protects and promotes the interests, growth and welfare of the Michigan aggregate industry. Members include industrial and recycled material producers; crushed stone, sand and gravel producers; and suppliers of equipment needed to produce mineral products.
In total, 88 awards were presented to 17 aggregate producers throughout Michigan; the awards are presented annually.
Team Elmer’s, a family owned company since 1956, specializes in site development, including excavation, earth moving, underground utility installation, retaining wall construction, directional boring, manhole rehabilitation, aggregate production, concrete ready-mix, asphalt installation (commercial and residential), milling, and crane/rigging, helical piers, auger cast piling, sheet piling, and tiebacks, among other specialties.
