TRAVERSE CITY, Mich., Jan. 21, 2014 — Team Elmer’s has been awarded two Awards of Excellence from the Builders Exchange of Northwest Michigan for its work on the Holiday Road resurrection and the M-37 Sherman Hill project.
Team Elmer’s is devoted to quality service and integrity. Because of these high standards, Team Elmer’s has received three Awards of Excellence in the past two years.
The Holiday Road resurrection presented the Team Elmer’s crew with a challenge. While widening the Holiday Road, the crew had to maintain traffic flow while limiting disruption to residents in the highly populated area with a single road access point to their homes. Team Elmer’s accomplished this challenge by using state-of-the-art robotic equipment that assured a time efficient and effective construction process. The project was praised by community members.
“The road work performed by Elmer’s is well-organized and of high quality. The project is so well designed that the road might become a tourist attraction in itself,” said Mark and Bonnie Soper in a letter to the Record-Eagle.
The M-37 Sherman Hill project required Team Elmer's crew to work day and night in order to complete large excavation tasks and reconstruction on a tight schedule. The crew followed MDOT engineered plans to reduce the overall pavement grade and straighten out the S-curve shaped road in an effort to make road conditions safer for motorists.
Team Elmer's will accept its awards at the Builders Exchange of Northwest Michigan's banquet and meeting on Jan. 23 at the Traverse City Country Club.
